Seven Core Steps Of Building Lighting Engineering

1. The building lighting project is designed according to the appearance of the building and coordinated with the lighting

Buildings may have different lighting due to their different appearances, or a more uniform feeling, or a strong sense of light and shade changes; it can be a more plain expression or a more lively expression, depending on the building. It depends on the properties of the object itself.

2. Choose the right light source

The choice of light source is determined by the design, and factors such as light color, color rendering, efficiency, and life should be considered. The light color has an equivalent relationship with the color of the exterior wall material of the building. Bricks and yellow-brown stone materials are more suitable for irradiation with warm color light, and the light source is flood light or halogen lamp. White or light-colored marble can be illuminated with cool white light (led point light source) with a higher color temperature, but high-pressure sodium lamps are also used. Building contour lighting can use LED linear lights, soft light strips, wall washers light, etc. to outline the dynamics of different colors and forms.

3. Determine the required illuminance

The required illuminance mainly depends on the light and shade of the surrounding environment and the color of the exterior wall material of the building. The illuminance value is mainly for the main facade (main viewing direction). The illumination of the secondary façade is half of the main façade, and the three-dimensional effect of the building can be expressed by the difference in light and shade between the two sides.

4, determine the way to illuminate the subject lighting

According to the characteristics and current conditions of the building, determine the appropriate lighting method to achieve the desired lighting.

5, building lighting project choose appropriate lamps and lanterns lighting

The light distribution angle of the square flood light is larger, and the angle of the round light is smaller. Wide-angle lamps are more uniform, but not suitable for long-distance projection; narrow-angle lamps are suitable for long-distance projection, but the uniformity is poor when used at close range. In addition to the light distribution characteristics, the selection of lamps and lanterns is also a factor that must be considered.

6. Calculation of illuminance and number of lamps

The number of lamps is determined according to the illuminance calculation of the selected light source, lamps, installation location and other conditions, so that the installation can be as close as possible to the desired one.

7. On-site adjustment after installation is completed

On-site adjustment is required. The projection direction of each lamp designed by the computer is only for reference, and the illuminance value calculated by the computer is only a reference value (what the human eye sees is the reflected brightness of the wall, not the illuminance). Therefore, the on-site adjustment after the installation is completed should actually be based on what the human eye sees.
