1.What is DMX512?
The DMX512 protocol was first developed by USITT (American Theatre Technology Institute) as a way to control dimmers from consoles using standard digital interfaces. Unlike DALI, which is used to represent static effects, DMX512 is mainly used to represent the dynamic effects of the illuminated object. That is, the lights controlled by DMX give people the feeling of constantly changing, mainly color changes, suitable for rendering atmosphere, so it is generally used in landscape lights and stage lighting.

DMX512 control system schematic: Several RGB lamps, each of which contains a DMX module inside. The module drives the LED beads to change brightness and adjust the color changes only when it receives power supply and controller signals simultaneously.
3. Characteristics and advantages of DMX512 control system
●Each output circuit supports a maximum of 512 channels, and outdoor lighting fixtures use a 3x expansion protocol. Each signal port has a maximum of 1536 channels.
●Each output circuit supports a maximum of 512/1536 channels, and the maximum number of devices that can be carried on each port is determined by the number of channels occupied by each device.
●A RGB light fixture occupying 3 channels.
●One RGBW light fixture occupies 4 channels.
●DMX512 lighting fixtures have all signals received in parallel (except for address lines), and there is no signal level relationship between adjacent fixtures. Therefore, if a single fixture's signal is damaged, it does not affect the normal operation of other fixtures
